Safety

The Ioniq 6 N’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The e-tron GT doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Ioniq 6 N and the e-tron GT have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The Ioniq 6 N comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The e-tron GT’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Hyundai’s powertrain warranty covers the Ioniq 6 N 6 years and 50,000 miles longer than Audi covers the e-tron GT. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the e-tron GT ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 3 times as many Hyundai dealers as there are Audi dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Ioniq 6 N’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Hyundai vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Hyundai third in initial quality, above the industry average. With 96 more problems per 100 vehicles, Audi is ranked 30th, below the industry average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Hyundai vehicles are more reliable than Audi With 51 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Hyundai higher than Audi.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Hyundai vehicles are more reliable than Audi vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Hyundai 1 place higher in reliability than Audi.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Ioniq 6 N has larger tires than the e-tron GT (275/35R20 vs. 245/45R20). The Ioniq 6 N’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the e-tron GT (275/35R20 vs. 265/35R21).

The Ioniq 6 N’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the e-tron GT’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Ioniq 6 N’s wheelbase is 2.5 inches longer than on the e-tron GT (116.7 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

Chassis

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 pounds less than the Audi e-tron GT.

The front grille of the Ioniq 6 N uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The e-tron GT doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

The Ioniq 6 N has 2 inches more front headroom, 3.5 inches more front legroom, 1.6 inches more front shoulder room, .2 inches more rear headroom, 2.5 inches more rear legroom and 3.5 inches more rear shoulder room than the e-tron GT.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Ioniq 6 N’s rear seats recline. The e-tron GT’s rear seats don’t recline.

Cargo Capacity

The Ioniq 6 N has a much larger trunk than the e-tron GT (10.7 vs. 9.2 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

The Ioniq 6 N’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The e-tron GT’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Recommendations

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N outsold the Audi e-tron by almost 9 to one during 2025.
