J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Hyundai vehicles are better in initial quality than Kia vehicles. J.D. Brakes and Stopping

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The Venue has standard Brake Assist to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Seltos doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

The Venue SEL handles at .81 G’s, while the Seltos S pulls only .77 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Venue’s turning circle is 1.6 feet tighter than the Seltos’ (33.2 feet vs. 34.8 feet).

Chassis

The Hyundai Venue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 500 pounds less than the Kia Seltos.

The Venue is 1 foot, 1.5 inches shorter than the Seltos, making the Venue easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Passenger Space

The front step up height for the Venue is 2 inches lower than the Seltos (16” vs. 18”). The Venue’s rear step up height is .8 inches lower than the Seltos’ (17” vs. 17.8”).

Ergonomics
