The Venue’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the UX’s (7 vs. 6 years).

Hyundai pays for scheduled maintenance on the Venue for 2 years and 26000 miles longer than Lexus pays for maintenance for the UX (3/36,000 vs. 1/10,000).

There are over 3 times as many Hyundai dealers as there are Lexus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Venue’s warranty.

Tires and Wheels

The Venue has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the UX; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

The Venue SEL handles at .81 G’s, while the UX AWD pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Venue’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the UX’s (33.2 feet vs. 34.2 feet).

Chassis

The Hyundai Venue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 850 pounds less than the Lexus UX.

The Venue is 1 foot, 5.9 inches shorter than the UX, making the Venue easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Passenger Space

The Venue has 2.2 inches more front headroom, 2.3 inches more rear headroom, 1.2 inches more rear legroom and .8 inches more rear shoulder room than the UX.

Cargo Capacity

The Venue has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the UX (18.7 vs. 17.1 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

The power windows standard on both the Venue and the UX have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Venue is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The UX prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

Economic Advantages

Insurance will cost less for the Venue owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the Venue will cost $465 to $1930 less than the UX over a five-year period.

Recommendations
